My name is Andrey. I've set up this forum to talk about patterns and techniques that I don't understand well. Last year we launched a podcast for the similar reasons. I've learned a lot, while interviewing people for the show. The forum is an attempt to replicate this experience and open it up for everyone.
What's the story behind your nickname?
Back at the university I was a hobby journalist. I used to write about music, bands, live shows and so on.
filipovskii is my journalist's pseudonym
Which programming languages do you know? Which would you like to learn? Which are your favorites?
My first job was "Business Analyst" in a big retail chain, that's when I had to learn SQL. The job was not easy, over time I became fluent. SQL is still one of my favorite languages.
I love the concept behind Haskell and Elm. Although I enjoy their esthetic, I haven't wrote a line of production code in those yet.
In practice I try to choose the language for the task. Most of those I used have their selling points. They're all convenient enough for me to use.
I'd love to learn Idris as my next hobby-language.
Tabs or Spaces?
If you could get anyone in a room for one hour to pick their brain, who would you invite? What would you talk about?
Well, that one is easy: http://codepodcast.com
